Description

Whether for on-site use in the workshop, in the measuring and test room or laboratory, SIKA temperature calibrators can be used everywhere. A wide range of industries and various application areas are covered.

• assembly, commissioning

• manufacturing, production

• maintenance, service

• quality assurance, test equipment monitoring

• repair

Calibration bath function

If temperature sensors with unusual shapes and dimensions are to be checked, the use of calibration liquids offers advantages. The DUT is placed directly into the liquid without insulating air gaps, thus creating a direct temperature seal between the calibrator and the DUT. The liquid, e.g. silicone oil, is selected according to the required calibration temperature. The continuously variable control of the magnetic stirrer, together with the pull-out sensor basket, causes vortices in the calibration liquid and thus creates a large homogenous temperature zone. Furthermore, the sensor basket ensures an unobstructed stirring operation and serves to protect the tank bottom.

Dry block function

The dry block function was developed to enable easy calibration of the temperature in lab and field applications. The optimum thermal coupling from block to DUT is achieved by the correct calibration insert. Ideally, the inner diameter of the bore hole in the calibration insert is 0.5 mm larger than the outer diameter of the DUT. With the help of the calibration insert almost all straight temperature sensors with different lengths and diameters can be calibrated. The dry block covers the entire temperature range without changing the calibration medium. The user does not have to take viscosities, flash points or outgassing into consideration.

Dark-radiation function

A patented infrared calibration insert is used to calibrate IR pyrometers or thermal imaging cameras. The special surface structure and the asymmetrical shapes form a "black cavity radiator" with an emission factor of 0.9994 and prevent the reflection of interfering radiation and emit the desired temperature in an ideal form. The pyrometer is simply held at the prescribed distance above the measuring port and thus forms the desired measuring spot for the calibration to be carried out on the ground. The direct mounting of a tripod is possible.

Surface temperature function

Surface temperature sensors are calibrated by means of special calibration inserts which are placed vertically with the required contact pressure. The best possible temperature reference point on the surface of the calibration insert is found by switching the calibrator control to the external reference temperature sensor. This is located directly under the front face of the calibration insert. The calibration insert is designed in such a way that the best temperature homogeneity is achieved in the middle of the front face. A good thermal contact is enabled by the special surface structure of the front face. The use of heat-conducting paste or other heat transfer media is not necessary.

Accessories

The extensive range of accessories for the TP Premium series enables time-saving calibration setups. For example, DUT can be identified via barcode scanner or an ongoing or already completed calibration process can be displayed via WLAN connection on a PC or smartphone anywhere in the world. Thanks to the possibility of connecting an external measuring bridge directly to the calibrators, many DUT can be calibrated at the same time – including automatic generation of individual SIKA works calibration certificates.
