SIKA receives EcoVadis Bronze Medal for the first time

From Committed to Bronze: SIKA has received the EcoVadis Bronze Medal for the first time in its latest sustainability assessment. Behind this step lies one key development: sustainability is becoming increasingly structured, measurable and embedded across different areas of the company.

EcoVadis assesses companies’ sustainability management across four key themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. For the first time, the latest assessment places SIKA among the top 35 per cent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous twelve months – across industries and company sizes.

From Committed to Bronze

SIKA has been taking part in the EcoVadis assessment on a regular basis for three years. In previous years, the company received the EcoVadis “Committed” badge. It is awarded to companies that achieve an overall score of at least 45 points.

In 2026, SIKA has now taken the next step: the Bronze Medal. The award is not based solely on a fixed overall score, but on a company’s percentile ranking compared with all companies assessed by EcoVadis over the previous twelve months. Bronze represents the top 35 per cent.

For SIKA, this development shows that the work of recent years is having an impact and that individual sustainability topics are increasingly becoming part of a systematic approach.

Four themes – and many contributors

An EcoVadis assessment is not the work of a single department. For the latest assessment, structures, measures, evidence and key figures from numerous areas across the company were brought together.

From environmental and energy topics to working conditions and human rights, compliance, ethics and procurement: many colleagues prepared information, provided data and helped make existing processes transparent. The Bronze Medal is therefore also a shared achievement.

At the same time, this intensive data collection has another benefit: it creates greater transparency around where robust structures are already in place and where data, processes or measures can be developed further and more consistently.

Bronze is both recognition and a mandate to keep improving

This is precisely where SIKA sees one of the key benefits of the EcoVadis assessment. The scorecard makes progress visible, while also highlighting specific areas for improvement.

The Bronze Medal is therefore not an end point. Instead, it provides a solid snapshot of where the company stands today and additional guidance for the next steps.

EcoVadis assesses the sustainability management system of the company concerned. The medal is not a certification of individual products or services and does not constitute a general sustainability label. For SIKA, it is above all a way of making sustainability performance more transparent, developing structures further and reviewing progress on a regular basis.
