221 laps, €1,105: SIKA runs at the Stiftskirchenlauf

Running, jogging, walking or simply taking a stroll: at the Stiftskirchenlauf around the Stiftskirche in Oberkaufungen, every lap counted. A large group of SIKA employees lined up together on Saturday, 15 August, turning a sporting morning into another activity marking the company’s 125th anniversary.

125 planned, 221 achieved

To mark SIKA’s 125th anniversary, the team had set itself a fitting target: at least 125 laps of the approximately 450-metre course. After one hour, the final tally stood at 221 laps – well above the original goal.

The event was not about setting record times. Whether running, jogging or walking, everyone could take part at their own pace and contribute laps to the team result.

There was plenty of movement around the Stiftskirche overall, too. According to the organizers, 72 participants completed a combined 1,244 laps within one hour.

Every lap makes a difference

For SIKA, each of the 221 laps had an additional value: the company is donating five euros for every lap completed. This brings the total donation to €1,105, which will go to the parish and the youth section of Laufgemeinschaft Kaufungen.

Taking part in the Stiftskirchenlauf is one of the activities marking SIKA’s 125th anniversary and also ties in with the “Wärme schenken” initiative. Throughout its anniversary year, the company is combining shared activities with support for Kaufungen and the surrounding region.

An anniversary that makes a difference locally

SIKA was founded in 1901 and has been closely connected with Kaufungen ever since. The company is therefore celebrating its 125th anniversary not only with events for employees, customers and partners, but also with activities that extend beyond its own premises.

The Stiftskirchenlauf brought both together: a shared experience and tangible local support. Or, fittingly after 221 laps: Together, we can get things moving.
